Dog breeding (17/02/15 18:52:11)
I read somewhere: bioarcheophilosophers think that the dog was tamed from wolves as a protection against bears.

Not much protection against bears with lapdogs or bagdogs.

    Bandogs, however

"The term Bandog (also known as Bandogge) originated around 12501300 in Middle England, referring to a mastiff type dog that was bound by a chain during the daytime and was released at night to guard against intruders."

"Early incarnations of the Bandog probably had bloodlines from bull baiting dogs and the Guardian Mastiffs or the cross of both like the war dogs used in the Crusades."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandog

I think those dogs are no good for company. I prefer people.
